		Draft Glossary National Onsite Wastewater Curriculum Development Project December 1, 2002 Introduction DESCRIPTION This draft glossary was developed in an attempt to standardize the language used in the Academic and Practitioner Curriculum projects. The Glossary is not part of the projects but is a separate initiative by the Consortium to enhance communication and promote consistency. The Draft is presented in two sections. The first defines terms covering the entire field of onsite wastewater and includes many soils-related terms that came to light in the initial process of "making a list". Although the basic definitions of soils terms in the first section originated from SSSA, they have, in some cases, been mildly adapted. The second section consists completely of soils terminology deemed appropriate to this project and selected by David Lindbo. Definitions in this section are presented in their original format: that is, as they appear in the SSSA Glossary.
